| When can I start to learn to drive? |
The minimum age to drive a car is 17. You can apply for your provisional license up to three months before your 17th birthday. If you are receiving disability living allowance at the higher rate, you can apply for your provisional license three months before your 16th birthday.
| How do I obtain a license? |
You must complete application form D1 which is available from most post office's or on-line from the DVLA. The D1 from must be completed and returned to the DVLA with the appropriate fee and original documentation confirming your identity and a passport-type size colour photo.
| What about my medical condition? |
You must tell the DVLA if you have ever had or currently suffer from a medical condition that may affect your driving. The Directgov website has more information.
